
The US-based apparel brand, GAP Inc. has also followed the path of other big retailers in America like Macy’s and Target Corp., with the announcement of hiring around 65,000 temporary associates in all of its Gap, Banana Republic, Athleta, and Old Navy outlets for the upcoming holiday season.
Notably, the newly hired seasonal workers will work in the brand’s call centres, stores and in distribution centres. The fashion retailer will be hosting two events in the US and Canada on 6th and 13th October respectively to complete the hiring process.
Brent Hyder, Executive VP, Chief People Officer, Gap Inc. cited on the development and was quoted as saying, “Temporary associates who work hard to serve our customers and are passionate about our brands are crucial to our success this holiday season.”
Brent further added that Gap is focussed on catering to its customers’ demands and offer an unforgettable in-shop experience during upcoming festive season.
It is important to mark out here that, Target Corporation is the largest recruiter ahead of the festive season, as it announced to hire 120,000 seasonal employees, expecting a larger footfall in its outlets and to cater to the orders which are expected to come from its e-commerce marketplace.
Gap Inc. currently operates in over 90 countries across the world, operating around 32,00 exclusive outlets and 450 plus franchise stores along with its e-commerce presence which caters to its customers.
