The lifestyle and fashion categories of Myntra-Jabong will now be lead by Rishi Vasudev, who was promoted by Flipkart to assume the role in addition to his existing one as the head of its fashion department. This development follows the recent appointment of Amar Nagaram as the CEO of Myntra-Jabong after his predecessor, Ananth Narayanan, resigned from the position.
Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy will be the reporting authority for both Nagaram and Vasudev as per a recent ET report that shed light on two people involved in the matter. A formal press release is expected to roll out in the next 10 days or so.
As per his LinkedIn profile, Vasudev has been a part of Flipkart since four years and is the senior vice president presently.
Vasudev’s appointment will be third instance of a senior Flipkart employee being given additional duties at Myntra-Jabong since Flipkart merged the operations of the two e-retailers in November 2018. Amar Nagaram has already been moved to succeed Narayanan by the company, which has also brought Ayyappan R to head category management at Myntra. Ayyappan was previously the head of the mobile phone category at Flipkart.
