Initiatives such as updating its fashion and home décor products with fresh and innovative appeal; all-revamped fit of its jeans; closure of its poor-performing Canadian operations; and hiring of experts to refresh stores with the best merchandise have pushed company’s sales further. The retailer has also launched a plus-size collection for women, Ava & Viv – its first exclusive fashion line in more than a decade. These steps have helped the retailer, as in its third quarter, TARGET noted that sales in fashion, home, children and baby products rose more than 2.5 times than the average 1.9 per cent growth.
Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, TARGET is the second-largest discount retailer in the US. It operates in around 1,801 locations across the country.
