The apparel retail market in the EU-27 is poised to generate an impressive US $ 326.7 billion
(€ 297.60 billion) revenue in 2025, according to Statista. Markedly, the apparel retail revenues in the entire European region are estimated to reach US $ 497.90 billion in 2025.
Women’s apparel will dominate the EU market, as per projected data, contributing US $ 177.10 billion to the total value, followed by men’s apparel (US $ 96.76 billion) and kid’s apparel (US $ 52.84 billion).
The market is expected to grow steadily at a CAGR of 1.55 per cent from 2025 to 2029, with a predicted volume increase of 0.8 per cent in 2026. By 2029, the overall market volume is set to reach 22.10 billion pieces.
Interestingly, on a per capita basis, the EU apparel market generates US $ 731.50 per person annually, with an average consumption of 48 pieces per individual in 2025. Notably, 91 per cent of the sales within the EU apparel market are attributed to non-luxury items, signalling a strong preference for accessible fashion.
