Debenhams – the ailing British fashion retailer – has launched a closing down sale, as the retailer struggles to find a buyer.
The retailer is offering many products at half the price, with some even being offered with 70 per cent discount.
The discounted products will be available in Debenhams’ bricks-and-mortar stores as well as on its digital platform. The shoppers have also been urged to spend any of their gift cards.
This also means that all its 124 stores in the UK and its website are continuing to trade despite the retailer’s collapse earlier this month.
Ever since Debenhams went into liquidation on 1 December, there’s been speculation over who would be buying the fashion retailer.
After JD Sports pulled out of rescue talks with Debenhams, there have been reports of both Frasers Group and Authentic Brands showing interest in buying the retailer.

However, nothing much has progressed since then.
In a matter of few days, it will be clear if Debenhams gets any buyer or else one can soon see the retailer closing down for good.
