Timberland and Children Worldwide Fashion (CWF) are collaborating more closely. Beginning on 1st January 2024, the French children’s fashion expert, who has been the American brand with its workwear heritage’s European licensee for 23 years, will extend its licence to the United States.
Although the license’s tenure has not been disclosed, CWF is replacing American brand licencing expert Centric Brands, which previously held the licences for kids’ lines from brands including Under Armour and Nautica.
Children between the ages of 3 months and 16 years will be the target audience for the first outdoor-inspired collection, which will debut in the spring and summer of 2024. “Each piece will be made using expert craftsmanship and sustainable materials,” says the CWF group in a press release.
The collection will include items like the renowned Stratford and Benton jackets from Timberland, as well as dungarees and technical pants.
Soon after receiving a reinvestment of € 140 million from its present shareholders, Arkéa Capital (the private equity division of the Crédit Mutuel Arkéa group), Raise Investissement, and Dzeta Group, the children’s fashion expert signed this new licencing arrangement. Along with two of its own brands, CWF’s portfolio consists of fourteen licences, including ones from Givenchy, Kenzo Kids, and Aigle.
CWF’s revenues in 2022 totaled € 284 million with a presence in 80 countries and close to 2,500 points of sale, including 350 department stores, 70 pure players, and 65 “Kids around” stores (its own multi-brand concept).
