Italian jacket specialist brand, Colmar, recently collaborated with Shayne Oliver aspiring for increased international recognition. The collection was chosen for the launch of its all-new website, ‘A.G.E’, which entirely revolves around research and creation.
The American designer, Shayne, who was the founder of the brand ‘Hood by Air’ is fond of cross-gender design and has previously been sought after by brands like Helmut Lang and Longchamp, as well as Diesel. He’s famously referred to as ‘curator’.
The all-new recognised A.G.E, which stands for Advanced Garment Association, is a creative platform that will showcase new products as well as blogs and content related to the products supported by many visuals. It is basically a space that will be used by Colmar to unveil any and every future collaboration to educate the customers.
“This is a space specifically designed to host the artistic direction of international talent who have chosen to reinterpret DNA and history of the brand by creating casual pieces blending highly innovative and technical materials,” said Giulio Colombo, CEO and grandson to the brand’s founder.
For this capsule collection of FW18, Oliver has developed Colmar jackets that are transformable. They can be turned into capes and reversible parkas in oversized cuts. It will also encompass several trousers and jackets that are all designed to be unisex, signature to the designer’s usual discourse, who is always questioning the notion of gender. This collection is the perfect amalgamation of skiing and streetwear.
At present, the collection is being retailed via select stores, less than ten in number, globally including Browns in London, Excelsior in Milan, Totokaelo in New York, and GRB in Tokyo.
