Dressfolk, a handloom clothing brand, has raised funding, led by Eternal Capital, with participation from Nobody Ventures and Eagle Wings Ventures, as well as D2C founders Ghazal Alagh (Founder, Mamaearth) and Dhruv Koli (Founder, Boba Bhai). Along with current investors All In Capital, Sidhant Keshwani of Libas, and Vidur Kataria of Master Chow, 3 Peaks Ventures also participated in the round.
By using its distinctive emphasis on genuine handlooms and craftsmanship to appeal to consumers looking for modern Indian clothing, the company hopes to broaden its product line beyond sarees and grow internationally.
Dressfolk identified a need in the natural, handwoven fabric market for Indian clothing for adults over 25, whereas many contemporary fashion firms concentrate on rapid fashion trends. In addition to its website, the brand has expanded its reach by setting up pop-up shops all around India and selling on major marketplaces like Aza Fashions, Nykaa, and Myntra.
The business, which has expanded by over 200 percent in FY24, works with a network of more than 800 weavers and 120 artisans in six states. By entering other markets with a new international website, Dressfolk hopes to take Indian handlooms worldwide.
