Mumbai-based footwear brand Chupps Footwear has opened its first exclusive retail outlet in the city, marking its formal entry into offline retail. Founded in 2019 as a digital-first sustainable footwear label, the brand has built its reputation around comfort-driven designs and environmentally responsible materials.
The new store offers customers a closer look at Chupps’ range of sliders, v-straps, and sandals, made from eco-friendly, 100% vegan materials. Each pair features ergonomic footbeds, responsive cushioning, and arch support, and is powered by the brand’s TruZero™ biodegradable sole technology, which is designed to decompose naturally within two years of disposal.
Chupps’ founder Yashesh Mukhi said the opening held particular significance as Mumbai was where the brand’s journey began. He explained that the store was intended to create a space for customers to directly experience the brand’s approach to comfort and sustainability.
Chief Executive Officer Khairav Duggal said the launch reflected the growth of India’s open-footwear category and the brand’s efforts to combine sustainability with functionality and style. He added that the store would allow consumers to engage with Chupps’ design philosophy and view sustainability in a practical, everyday context.
Following the launch, the company plans to expand its offline presence across 5,000 retail points of sale in India, while continuing to focus on sustainable materials, comfort innovation, and India-specific design collaborations.
