The much-awaited sale of Selfridges is finally over!
The British clothing retailer will be now operated by Central Group and Signa Holdings in a 50-50 partnership.
As per the deal, both the companies will run the fashion retailer’s portfolio that includes as many as 18 stores.
Besides the Selfridges stores in London, Birmingham and Manchester, the Group will also operate Brown Thomas and Arnotts (Ireland) and de Bijenkorf (the Netherlands).
Additionally, Central Group and Signa Holdings will also run Selfridges’ e-commerce platforms and properties in London, Manchester and five Irish locations.
While Stefano Della Valle, CEO of Central Group and Signa Holding’s luxury department store group in Europe, will lead Selfridges Group under his expanded role, Anne Pitcher, current MD of The Selfridges Group, will remain in the company’s leadership team until the end of the year.
Selfridges was founded in 1908 and has its headquarters in London.
