Selfridges, the reputed clothing retailer from the UK, aims at setting new targets to meet its net zero commitments.
As a part of its Project Earth sustainability strategy which Selfridges had launched in 2020, the retailer said that 45 per cent of all transactions across its four stores and online will come from circular products and services by 2030.
The retailer also said that it aims to ensure 50 per cent of the director roles will be held by women by the year 2025 – in addition to closing the gender gap.
And that’s not all! The retailer is also committed to ensure 16 per cent of the senior leadership team consists of ethnic minorities by 2025.
Selfridges has already made it distinct that it is committed to reaching net-zero by 2040.
Corroborating further, Andrew Keith, MD, Selfridges, said “Our vision is to reinvent retail and create a more sustainable future, and Project Earth and our new targets underpin this.”
Selfridges was founded in 1908 and has its headquarters in London.
