Marco Airoldi, CEO, Benetton, an Italian fashion retailer, has stepped down from his post after serving the company since 2014. His official exit is marked on 16th May. The company thanked the outgoing Airoldi, saying “He contributed to the definition and subsequent launch of the company refocus and relaunch plan.”
In another management shuffle, Tommaso Brusò has been tapped as the new Chief Operating Officer to help the company return its business to growth in the face of intense competition at retail from fast fashion chains.

Benetton stated, “He will bring to Benetton Group’s operations his experience in the international fashion industry, combined with a strong knowledge of Italian entrepreneurship.”
Furthermore, the shareholders’ meeting next month should also see the appointment of James McArthur, who has already been co-opted onto the board since early March, as a Non-Executive Director.
