An eco-friendly outdoor apparel line has been launched by BBC Studios and Cowell Fashion, with inspiration from the BBC Earth natural history programming in South Korea. Following a licencing agreement, the cooperation has released a selection of clothing and accessories that honour the wonders of the natural world and motivate consumers to wear sustainable fashion to lessen their influence on the environment.
The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) label, which verifies the recycled content of products as well as the environmental and chemical practises in their production, was used to certify the collection, which was created with sustainability at its core. The collection uses materials and manufacturing processes that are environmentally conscious.
Detachable sleeves and hems in some jacket and pant models offer comfort and flexibility to fit a wide variety of seasons and outdoor activities, combating quick fashion with practical and convertible designs. The current product line also includes sweatshirts, shorts, caps, and windbreakers.
In the current launch phase, the emphasis will be on bolstering the retail presence of these 9 stores while extending the collection’s presence on online fashion stores like Musina, which are well-liked by younger, environmentally conscious consumers.
Vice President, Brands and Marketing Sophia Spinelli, who leads BBC Studios Asia’s newly formed Consumer Products and Licensing team, says, “BBC Earth is one of our most powerful and recognisable brands worldwide, available as a linear channel in over 60 million households, with more than 326 million YouTube views in Asia alone, so we’re really pleased to now bring it to life off the screen as an apparel range for South Korean audiences.”
Cowell Fashion Chairman Lee Soon-seop adds, “In the current climate crisis, the BBC Earth apparel line was launched with the goal of making it easier and more convenient for consumers to experience eco-friendly values. Based on 9 offline stores and an online mall, we will start by introducing the values that BBC Earth represents in this clothing collection and after establishing ourselves as an eco-friendly lifestyle outdoor apparel line in Korea, we plan to expand to China and Asia.”
