
Alesha Mart, the e-commerce platform from Bangladesh, has once again requested the Commerce Ministry to allow transfer of fund from the escrow account, where the funds are reportedly stuck, to its account.
Media reports maintained this adding the request in this regard was made by the chairman of the e-commerce entity.
For information, following the suspension of the platform’s official activities for security concerns on 2 December, Alesha Mart, reportedly, sought support from the concerned ministry in availing loan worth Taka 300 crore to help clear owed liabilities to customers and to continue the business even if the ministry through a letter had refused to provide any kind of support to the controversial platform in availing loans while adding the Commerce Ministry cannot provide any such support from the central bank, Bangladesh Bank.
