
American performance sports apparel brand Under Armour that specialises in footwear, garments as well as equipment has announced the appointment and elevation of executives.
The company has named Paul Fipps as Chief Technology Officer and Colin Browne as Chief Supply Chain Officer to power its digital business.
Michael La Guardia has been appointed as the Senior Vice President – Digital Product, effective January 8. Additionally, David Bergman, who has been working as acting CFO since February 2017, is now the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Under Armour.
Guardia will work at the San Francisco office of the brand and report to Paul. He will be responsible to formulate strategies for the digital product development.
Guardia, who most recently worked with Yahoo! Finance and Sports, will also take care of category leadership, marketing, creative/design, development and external partners to manage the successful creation and execution of Under Armour’s digital products.
On the other hand, Bergman, who brings in 13 years of experience, will be responsible for accounting, finance, internal audit and insurance, investor relations, tax and treasury functions at Under Armour.
Bergman started working with Under Armour in 2004. Since then he has held various roles related to finance and accounting at the company.
“I am confident that Dave’s experience will help drive greater operational excellence in every area of our business and create a long-term financial model capable of providing more consistent, sustainable value and return to our shareholders,” reportedly said Kevin Plank, Chairman and CEO, Under Armour.
The changes in the management have come close on the heels of a tough quarter reported by the sportswear giant. In the latest quarter, Under Armour’s revenue plunged 4.5 per cent to US $ 1.4 billion.
