
Michael Kors, the reputed American fashion brand, has decided to join hands with fast-growing accessories label Ashya.
The partnership, which is a part of Michael Kors’ 40th anniversary celebrations, is seen as an effort on the parts of the US brand to offer its distribution and platform to an emerging brand.
Ashya couldn’t have asked for a better mentor than Michael Kors, which could also help the former reach and win a larger section of people.
More on the association, Michael Kors, reportedly, stated that after being impressed by the uniqueness and thoughtfulness in the work of Ashya, the brand approached the New York accessories label for collaboration.
Michael Kors added “I reached out to them about doing a collaboration together that would merge our sensibilities and I am thrilled with how the collaboration came together.”
Meanwhile, Ashya has, reportedly, said that it wanted to reference West African weaving in the design of the Ashya x Michael Kors styles, creating something that has historical reference to its identity and this has made the collaboration special.
Michael Kors is known for selling men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, accessories, footwear and jewellery, amongst others.
