
Mike Mathias has been appointed as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of American Eagle Outfitters.
Effective immediately, Mike will replace Bob Madore, who is exiting the company, but will serve a senior advisory role with the group, through September 2020.
Mike will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of finance within the company, including financial planning, accounting, tax, internal audit, treasury and merchandise planning. He will be reporting to Jay Schottenstein, Executive Chairman of the board and Chief Executive Officer.
Mike will also be notably serving as a member of the executive leadership team.
Commenting on the appointment, Jay said “I am excited to appoint Mike to this role, a position he has been groomed for over the past several years. Mike’s deep knowledge of our business, combined with his operational and financial expertise, has been invaluable to our team as we manage through COVID-19.”
It’s been 2 decades since Mike has been holding important leadership roles across finance and operational areas in the company, including e-commerce, store finance, strategy and business development, among others.
