The e-retailer, on its way to becoming the best in the field, Amazon, is revamping its sales strategies to promote the under-performing products by either completely removing them or changing the ways of selling them.
According to a Wall Street Journal report, these “CRaP” or “Can’t Realize a Profit” products encompass items like paper towels and bottled water that are otherwise inexpensive until heavy cost of shipping reduces their sales.
As per an Amazon spokesperson, the company will work towards selling these products through programs like Amazon Pantry in revamped sizes. This will eventually allow the users of Amazon Prime to order single-item goods in different categories.
They will also work towards refurbishing their shipping and packaging strategies to make them more eco-friendly and build upon cost-effective adjustments to reduce waste throughout the supply chain of the products.
These strategic implementations done by Amazon are being done in order to instill confidence in third-party sellers that Amazon will continue to host a versatile range of products, even if the number of pieces are reduced.
