In a luxury landscape that has long been dominated by heritage houses from Paris and Milan, AKINNA poses a daring question: What if India’s craftsmanship could stand at the global forefront, without compromise, without cliché?
Founded by Sanchit Goyal, who holds a Master’s in Luxury and Fashion Marketing from EDHEC Business School, France, bringing experience from global brands such as Hugo Boss Parfums, Whirlpool, Lactalis and Aquaporin Denmark, alongside Annika Saraf, an alumna of Istituto Marangoni, Milan, with a Master’s in Luxury Accessories Design, whose career spans Prada, Stella McCartney and Borbonese where her Lucia Bag debuted at Milan Fashion Week F/W ’20, Akinna was named by Vogue Italia amongst the Top 5 Foreign Designers in Italy (2024).
Together, the duo have moulded AKINNA into a brand that is bold yet understated, global yet grounded. Every bag is ethically handcrafted in India from 100% full-grain leather, featuring sculpted silhouettes, emerald linings and high grade hardware that is built to last.
Designed in Italy and inspired by its culture of timeless design, AKINNA draws inspiration from architecture, art and the beauty found in the world around us. Each concept comes to life through the hands of master artisans in India – men and women whose expertise has been refined over decades and passed down through generations. The brand’s ideology is deeply rooted in India’s rich craft heritage yet shaped by contemporary Italian sophistication, with every handbag transcending its role as a mere accessory, becoming instead a global conversation between tradition and modernity, between precision and poetry.
It takes over 28 hours to bring a single AKINNA bag to life, with the brand being deeply committed to ethical production, supporting skilled artisans and celebrating India’s rich craftsmanship. By producing in small batches, Akinna stays true to its values, prioritising quality and precision over mass production.
