adidas has announced the launch of its fastest ever distance running shoe – The Adizero Adios Pro – which is set to define the next standard of professional running footwear.
The shoe introduces carbon-infused EnergyRods – an innovation that builds on the technology of the adizero family.
The Adizero Adios Pro has been built for athletes by athletes, i.e., adidas has taken insights from elite athletes like Kenyan long-distance runners Joyciline Jepkosgei and Rhonex Kipruto who gave interactive feedback on prototypes.
Peres Jepchirchir recently broke the world record at the RunCzech half marathon and proved the success of the shoe as this event was the first competitive outing for the adios pro.
Falk Bruns, Senior Footwear Designer, said “We’re confident that with the launch of Adizero Adios Pro, we will help our athletes feel invigorated and stand out as they return to elite racing.
Crafting the footwear that would support runners to go faster than ever and achieve their bests could not be done without collaboration. With that in mind, we went direct to the athlete from the very outset, incorporating their insights from first sketch to final prototype”.
The shoe, which will launch on September 14 on adidas’ official website, will retail for Rs. 19,999.
With a CELERMESH upper to provide flexibility, breathability and lightweight support, the midsole features the EnergyRods between two pieces of LightstrikePRO foam.
The midsole is also topped off by a nylon, carbon-infused fibre heel plate designed to maximise running economy while limiting energy loss. The outsole is made of lightweight rubber to provide cushioning without compromising the weight.
