South Korea-based Park Handbag BD Ltd is set to invest US $ 80 million to establish a large-scale bag, luggage and high-end garment manufacturing facility at the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority’s (BEPZA) Economic Zone in Mirsharai, Chattogram.
According to BEPZA, the investment agreement was signed on 26th January 2026, at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka. The agreement was executed by Md Tanvir Hossain, Executive Director (Investment Promotion) at BEPZA, and Beomjoon Park, Chairman of Park Handbag BD Ltd, in the presence of Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain, Executive Chairman of BEPZA.
Under the terms of the agreement, the company will develop the project on a 57,600-square-metre plot of land. The proposed facility will manufacture handbags, backpacks and luggage, along with a broad range of knit and woven garments. The product portfolio will include polo shirts, T-shirts, padded and down jackets, trousers, sportswear and undergarments.
Once fully operational, the unit is expected to generate employment for approximately 10,960 Bangladeshi workers, further strengthening the country’s capabilities in value-added bag and apparel manufacturing.
The products manufactured at the facility will be exported to major international markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, South America and Asia. The project is expected to reinforce BEPZA’s role in attracting diversified foreign direct investment into Bangladesh’s export-oriented manufacturing sector.
