
Intertek has strengthened its testing and certification footprint in Bangladesh with the launch of new Hardlines, Toys and Calibration laboratories at its advanced facility in Gazipur. The expansion marks a significant enhancement of the company’s service portfolio in one of South Asia’s fastest-growing manufacturing hubs.
The upgraded laboratories will provide comprehensive testing, inspection and certification services for packaging, toys and tents along with homeware, cookware, candles, luggage, ceramics and other hardline categories. The capabilities cover major global safety and performance standards, including EN 71, ASTM F963, CPSIA 2008, ISO 8124 and GB 6675, enabling manufacturers, exporters and retailers to secure international market access with greater efficiency.
Intertek stated that the new facilities are intended to deliver end-to-end quality and precision solutions to both consumer and industrial sectors. According to the company, the expansion represents a continued investment in supporting Bangladesh’s manufacturing competitiveness by offering global expertise through locally available services.
Ajay Kapoor, Regional Managing Director – South Asia, noted that the broadened capabilities demonstrate Intertek’s commitment to advancing manufacturing excellence in the region. He emphasised that the proximity of these services would allow clients to undertake testing locally while ensuring global compliance.
