
Bihar’s Industries Minister, Nitish Mishra, inaugurated a premium bag manufacturing unit of High Spirit Commercial Ventures Pvt. Ltd. (Priority Bags) at the Muzaffarpur Textile Park, adding to the industrial momentum in the state. The unit occupies an area of 48,000 sq.ft. to produce 8,40,000 vegan leather bags annually and is likely to provide over 8,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
With this new unit, High Spirit Group now has a total production capacity of 1.8 million bags per year in the state of Bihar at four factories. This factory was fully equipped with over 3,500 advanced sewing machines and ready to create employment opportunities for young people and artisanal workers in Muzaffarpur and surrounding districts.
Recognising the initiative as part of the ‘Make in Bihar’ model, Mishra stated that the factory was an example of increased confidence by investors in Bihar. He pointed out that the state government was consistently refining its industrial policies to make Bihar a more favourable investment destination as well as to improve local economic self-reliance.
The unit will only use vegan and eco-friendly raw materials, demonstrating sustainability and ethical production. The factory is focusing on international grading compliance while assisting the fashion industry in being environmentally responsible.
Recently, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated a Rs. 37 crore (US $4.44 million) bag manufacturing unit, Cosmos Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd., in the Bela Industrial Area in Muzaffarpur, under the Bihar Textiles and Leather Policy 2022. The unit is spread over 5 acres and aims to boost development of the industry and upgrade employment opportunities in the region.
