Menswear brand Blackberrys has appointed Sartaj Singh Mehta to its team, bringing on board a seasoned industry professional with nearly three decades of experience in the fashion and lifestyle sector.
Mehta joins the company after serving as Senior Director – Product and Design at Pepe Jeans London. Over the course of a 27-year career, he has held key roles across several leading fashion and apparel companies, including Pepe Jeans India, Wills Lifestyle and John Players under ITC, Benetton India Pvt. Ltd., and Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (ABFRL).
Industry observers note that Mehta has built extensive expertise in product development, brand building and category management, contributing to the growth of several international and Indian fashion brands during his tenure in the sector.
A postgraduate in Knitwear Design and Technology from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Delhi, Mehta is known for combining technical design expertise with a focus on innovation in apparel development. His professional experience spans product strategy, brand development and e-commerce within the fashion industry.
According to the company, Mehta’s appointment is expected to strengthen Blackberrys’ product and design capabilities as the brand continues to evolve in a competitive apparel market.
Outside of his professional commitments, Mehta is known to have a keen interest in reading and sports, and has often emphasised the importance of maintaining passion and positivity in both professional and personal pursuits.
