Three months after stepping into the CEO role at Puma, Arthur Hoeld has added a new face to the company’s top leadership. Andreas Hubert, a two-decade veteran at the German sportswear brand, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer and will officially assume the role 1st September 2025. His appointment brings the executive committee to five members.
In his new role, Hubert will oversee global sourcing, product development, IT, logistics, and company-wide sustainability initiatives. Although he is most recently having served as information head, heading Puma’s worldwide IT systems and strategy, Hubert has his beginnings in sourcing. He previously was Vice President of Sourcing while based in Hong Kong.
His appointment comes in the wake of the departure of Anne-Laure Descours, Puma’s veteran chief sourcing officer, who resigned earlier this year. While no longer in an executive position, Descours still provides guidance to the company on sustainability and responsible procurement.
Hubert’s new responsibility aligns a number of operational tasks which were hitherto scattered across different departments. Procurement was looked after by the product director, IT by the finance director, and logistics by the managing director.
“I am pleased to introduce Andreas as our new COO,” noted CEO Arthur Hoeld. “His extensive background in IT, sourcing, and supply chain provides the perfect combination of operating expertise and strategic vision. He’ll be instrumental in advancing our international operations, driving digital innovation forward, and enhancing supply chain resilience as we position for future growth.”
The leadership news follows Puma’s recent downgraded full-year guidance. Puma’s executive committee, as of 1st September 2025, will be made up of Arthur Hoeld (CEO), Markus Neubrand (CFO), Maria Valdes (Product Director), Matthias Bäumer (Commercial Director), and Andreas Hubert (COO).
