In a pre-seed fundraising round headed by Blink Digital, Brown Living, an online marketplace for eco-friendly and plastic-free goods, has raised an undisclosed sum. Bharat Iyer and Sanjay Nayar, two angel investors, also took part in the investment round.
The money will be used by the business to give small businesses (SMEs) and craftsmen nationwide access to the market. About 650 retailers and 1800 artists are presently on Brown Living’s platform, and the company intends to add many more in the upcoming months.
“With this funding, we will be able to scale our efforts to reach our next million customers and expand our artisan-to-consumer (A2C) model,” said Chaitsi Ahuja, founder and CEO of Brown Living, in a statement. “We can’t wait to expand our collaborations with artisan communities, assist them in going digital, and help mainstream sustainable living.”
“What distinguishes Brown Living in the startup and D2C space is their longstanding relationship with India’s artisans and SMEs,” continued Dooj Ramchandani, co-founder of Blink Digital. “Brown Living’s distinctive A2C business strategy will enable them to interact directly with customers while providing fair pricing and a worldwide platform for their sustainable, eco-friendly goods to craftsmen.”
Brown Living asserts that it is the biggest marketplace for eco-friendly and plastic-free goods in India. It provides eco-friendly goods in a variety of categories, including lifestyle, home décor, and fashion.
