Relieving the hospitality industry from huge costs incurred on washing of white linen everyday and ending it from getting greyed, is Hohenstein Institute of Germany, the most important independent research and testing institution in the textile sector. The institute is researching innovative and sustainable solutions, maintaining the value of textiles over the long term, guaranteeing a high level of process security and resulting in stable laundry costs.
Using innovative test soiling based on high stain substances such as cosmetics, the institute is investigating the properties of detergent solutions, and how they hold dirt in the solution and prevent it from soaking back into the fabric. The association is also studying the effects of detergents, including dispersing agents, on the colour and greying of fabric.
The newly acquired knowledge will be useful in washing procedures for textiles of hotels and hospitals among others.
