The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation is working strongly against the industrial units dumping untreated waste in sewer lines and such textiles units are also on the radar.
The Corporation’s team caught a textile printing unit in Focal Point (Phase-6) that was allegedly not following the rules.
It has been said that no effluent treatment plant (ETP) was installed in the unit and the staff was also not able to present any documents regarding the consent taken from the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) to operate the unit.
It can be mentioned here that in the last few days, the local administration has taken action against almost 4 such dyeing units that were dumping waste in sewer lines or not following the rules.
Besides small or medium-level units, even a large-scale dyeing unit like Ramal Industries was involved in such practices and was immediately shut down.
