
Concerned officials from the central bank of Bangladesh-Bangladesh Bank are set to meet the garment exporters of the country on the issue of local LC payment in Taka.
This is as per reports, which added the meeting will be held to determine if it would be possible to open and settle local back-to-back letters of credit (LCs) in Taka as the country battles dollar crunch amidst fall of forex reserves.
The leaders of the key garment and textile makers’ bodies of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) and Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) will reportedly take part in the said meeting, reports added further.
