
Following the recent acquisition of Arcadia brands by British online giants Asos Plc and Boohoo, the former employees of the Group are lining up to claim compensation.

The employees are concerned over not been consulted following the Group’s collapse into administration, and are now seeking compensation.
Two law firms have, reportedly, said that they have already signed hundreds of former employees of the Group who may not have been properly consulted before losing their jobs.
Here it is important to mention that it is a legal duty to collectively consult staff in cases where over 20 jobs are going to be hit.
And in case an employment tribunal discovers that employees didn’t undergo consultation process, then the workers are lawfully entitled to a ‘protective award’ of up to 90 days’ wages capped at £4,353 each.
Usdaw, the union for shopkeepers, which is already supporting a compensation claim made by the former workers of Debenhams, has come forward and said that it will consider getting compensation for the affected employees.
Over 12,000 workers are on the brink of losing jobs after Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins and other brands of Arcadia Group were recently sold.
