Singaporean online marketplace Shopee is gearing up to unveil a premium shopping destination for consumers to gain easier access to high-end brands.
Shopee Premium will start by catering to 5 key Asian markets: Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, and will host top brands like Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and L’Occitane, amongst others.
With the new premium destination, Shopee aims to help brands enhance customers’ online shopping experience by using the company’s customer insight and brand tools.
This is an essential step in the times when there are dozens of online portals to compete with as every brand is looking to invest in digitisation to ride the growing e-commerce wave.
Shopee’s Regional Managing Director Ian Ho believes that the increasing demand for premium products online calls for brands to “carve out a more exclusive and differentiated destination” for consumers to access their favourite brands.
In order to engage and attract consumers, Shopee Premium will feature special ‘brand spotlights’ to showcase certain brands along with articles and videos.
Additionally, the brands will be allowed to put forth video tutorials and reviews.
Shoppers will be able to gain access to exclusive brand content and collaborations during the site’s Grand Launch live streams, slated to take place from 4 to 10 October.
