2025 Mission Sustainability is what this textile solution provider focused at!
Elevate Textiles, the company known for a global array of premium fabric and thread solution brands including American & Efird (A&E), Burlington, Cone Denim, Gütermann and Safety Components, has announced its sustainability targets to be achieved by the year 2025.
With global manufacturing footprints that include 38 facilities and over 15,000 employees, the company is committed to achieving sustainability milestones with a focus on three key environmental areas – fibres, water and greenhouse gases.
The company’s advanced, high-quality products and mission-critical textile solutions across vast industries include fashion and functional apparel, footwear, military, fire, medical, athletic, automotive, aerospace, outdoor and other specialty sectors.
Its commitments on sustainability are encouraging for various stakeholders of the textile industry. The core commitments include:
Responsibly sourced fibres: Elevate brand products will be produced using at least 80 per cent sustainably sourced cotton and 50 per cent recycled polyester content.
Reduced water consumption: The company’s manufacturing operations will reduce its water intensity by 25 per cent per unit of production.
Reduced greenhouse gases: Elevate will join other pacesetters within the industry to join the Science Based Target (SBT) Programme, and set a specific greenhouse gas target of achieving a 2.5 per cent per year reduction trajectory.
