Worn formally as well as casually, checkered (or striped) shirts are a must-have in every man’s wardrobe. The aesthetics of the shirts (formal or casual) depends on the symmetric alignment of the checks. These seemingly beautiful, perfectly aligned checks are a result of the placement of the fabric done at the cutting table before cutting process. While some mitering or matching of checks are easy to achieve, others (the unnecessary ones made to create brand identity) become a nightmare. Dr. Prabir Jana, Professor, NIFT, Delhi questions some of the critical parameters of shirt making.

The current issue also carries a summary of an interesting and one-of-a-kind experiment conducted by DataS, a PMTS solution provider, with its software timeSSD. 18 NIFT students successfully completed the contest demonstrating that any person with conceptual understanding will be able to use the software (without any training and support).
