
The wait is over for those who have been waiting to shop at IKEA store in their city now should get ready to buy furniture or home décor items to beautify their homes. The store opening is exactly a month away from today as furniture retailer has announced to open its first store on July 10 in Hyderabad.
The store set up at cost of Rs 800 crore including land, construction and capital goods, among others in Hi tec city in the city is reported to be inaugurated by its CEO, Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, IT and Industries was quoted as saying by the news agency PTI.
A company statement on Facebook has also confirmed store opening in July. “We’re opening our first store in Hyderabad this July. See you there!,” Ikea said in its official Facebook page.
The company has so far recruited 400 people out of its total 800 people were supposed to be recruited for the IKEA’s Hyderabad store.
After Hyderabad, Mumbai will host IKEA’s second store next year while Bengaluru and Delhi NCR will also host IKEA stores soon. Additionally, the company has also opened a distribution point in Pune.
The debut store in IKEA will be its largest in more than 400 stores it currently operates globally. A 1,000-seater restaurant has also been set up at the upcoming Hyderabad store.
Notably, the furniture retailer opened its Hej Home, an experience zone where consumers can touch and feel and get to know the benefits of the products offered by the retailer, in Forum Mall in Kukatpally near Hitec City in November last year. The Hej Home was opened for a period of six months.
India will become the 52nd market for the company post the opening of Hyderabad store.
