US-based Unifi Inc., a leading synthetic recycled yarn producer, has bagged UNC Sustainability Award owing to its strong history of commitment to sustainability along with its strategic and best business practices.
The award, by Kenan-Flagler Business School’s Center for Sustainable Enterprise and the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, recognises leadership in environmental and business sustainability for North Carolina enterprises. Notably, Unifi’s commitment to landfill-free manufacturing demonstrates a great environmental commitment to their local communities.
The UNC award is aimed to highlight the positive stories of organisations and their leadership in building profitable as well as sustainable models of business. UNC hopes the award challenges other businesses to take a look at their practices and follow sustainable suit.

“UNC award has come as a recognition to our efforts in developing innovative, environmentally-friendly practices,” stated Unifi CEO Kevin Hall.
Kevin also expressed happiness over its partnership with the world’s leading brands to transform more than 10 billion bottles into performance fibres.
Unifi pioneers in using recycled materials to manufacture innovative yarns while showing that superior products do not need virgin materials. “The company is aimed to transform 30 billion bottles by 2022,” added Kevin.
