One of the most recent innovations in the field of MTM, the California-based Styku recently launched a new version of MyBodee, the ultra-portable body scanning technology in collaboration with Microsoft Kinect. A simple, inexpensive and portable body scanning technology, it comes with an automated turntable, Microsoft Kinect and a tripod stand. Styku has developed a complete end-to-end solution that resolves fit issues throughout the apparel value chain that will eventually imbibe innovations at the level of mobile phones. Styku has recently tied-up with UK-based Bodi.Me, an online shopping tool, as a reseller for Styku’s MyBodee body scanning product for the apparel industry.
Bodi.Me shares with Styku the same thought process of making available to customers perfectly fit apparels without visiting brick & mortar stores.
Broadening the scope of its applications to aspects of 3D mapping and fitness, Styku would release a version of MyBodee that will provide valuable health diagnostic and fitness assessment tools to users, by analysing the increase in body mass of the user over a period of time. Another achievement of the start-up has been its inclusion in Google’s Project Tango an Android smartphone-like device which tracks the 3D motion of the device, and creates a 3D model of the environment around it. Styku was selected as an early developer to build new 3D sensing apps on Project Tango prototype devices. The Google Project Tango team presented Styku’s final face scanning application, which Styku built in less than 3 weeks, to thousands of developers at Google’s I/O conference.
