Seasalt, the renowned Cornish clothing and lifestyle retailer, has just witnessed record Christmas sales.
The retailer’ revenues have gone up by 20 per cent in the five weeks to 1 January 2022. What’s, however, notable is that the jump has been an impressive 33 per cent, when compared to 2019 – all thanks to record in-store sales.
Meanwhile, there are reports that the retailer has hired PWC to explore funding sale option, which may also include a complete sale of the business.
Notably, Seasalt saw its stores post record Christmas sales. While overall store revenues surged by a whopping 81 per cent from same period last year, the same rose by 23 per cent during the same period in 2019.
The retailer also said that online sales remained strong all through the Christmas, with digital sales representing 56 per cent (more than half) of revenue.
Seasalt now expects total sales in the year to 29 January 2022 to approach £100 million, and an EBITDA margin of up to 12 per cent.
UK-based clothing, accessory and footwear brand Seasalt Cornwall is also the first clothing retailer in the UK to receive the Soil Association GOTS certification for the use of organic cotton.
