
If you want to avoid congestion in a crowded mall or busy dressing room, then US based e-retailer Amazon has a solution to your problem. The retailer has announced launch of its Prime Wardrobe ‘try before you buy’ for its prime members in US. The service is termed as the most fashionable benefit as there is no additional charge for the existing primemembers. It lets customers order shoes, clothes and accessories to try at home.
Men’s, women’s, children’s and baby products come under eligible products for which customer scan avail this service. AG Adriano Goldschmied, Paige, Calvin Klein, Milly, Joie, Rebecca Taylor, J Brand, AX Armani Exchange, Adidas, Puma, and Native are some of the big brands included in the programme. The service was formally launched after a successful beta trial last year.
The e-retailer is also using this opportunity to promote its private-label brands such as Core 10, Peak Velocity, Daily Ritual and Lark & Ro, Buttoned Down and GoodTHREADS.
Customers can choose minimum of three and maximum of eight items across clothing, shoes and accessories and can get seven days’ time to decide if they want to make the purchase or not. This service is the answer to customers’ dilemma of choosing the right ‘fit’ while shopping online.
According to eMarketer, online apparel and accessories’ sales make up just 20 percent of the total in the US. The latest service went live for all prime members soon after a whopping 43 per cent increase in its net sales to US $ 51.0 billion in the first quarter of the current fiscal year.
