Digital fashion designer Stephy Fung has unveiled her inaugural SYKY Collective collection at NFT Paris, coinciding with the luxury fashion startup’s integration into the Polygon blockchain ecosystem.
Expressing her vision as a digital fashion artist, Fung emphasised the transformative potential of her collection. Addressing the prevailing gap between traditional fashion industry perceptions and digital fashion, she highlighted the misconception that digital fashion is merely a novelty. Fung stressed the significance of merging the fashion industry with Web3 technologies, underscoring its paramount importance.
The ‘Four Dragons’ collection by Fung draws inspiration from her Chinese heritage, paying tribute to the Year of the Dragon in this year’s zodiac. Comprising four distinct digital fashion pieces – Long Dragon, Pearl Dragon, Yellow Dragon, and Black Dragon – the collection offers a blend of cultural symbolism and contemporary design. Notably, Yellow Dragon will be available in both digital and physical formats, while Pearl Dragon will be exclusively accessible through Polygon.
Describing Fung, SYKY CEO and Founder Alice Delahunt emphasised the brand’s collaboration with Polygon as a means to democratise luxury fashion and broaden its creative horizons. Fung highlighted the inclusive nature of digital fashion, noting its ability to lower entry barriers and empower individuals from diverse backgrounds to engage in creative expression within the industry.
SYKY’s partnership with Polygon is anticipated to extend its outreach to more than 400 million unique addresses, amplifying its global presence and accessibility. Established in 2022 by Alice Delahunt, SYKY secured a US $ 10.5 million Series A funding round in January 2023, spearheaded by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian’s investment firm Seven Seven Six.
