Safariland, a brand of The Safariland Group which is a leading provider of safety products, and Flying Cross, a Fechheimer Brothers Company brand and a leader in public safety uniforms, have exclusively unveiled a new virtual sizing technology named ‘XpertFit’.
XpertFit has been developed in partnership with 3DLOOK, which is a leader in AI-first touchless body measuring and fit solutions.
With this collaborative launch, both the companies (Safariland and Flying Cross) aim at revolutionising the sizing process of individual officers for uniform apparels and body armors as XpertFit offers a contactless and self-measure method of capturing body measurements from a smartphone.
Commenting on this development, Bob Getto, President and CEO, Fechheimer Brothers Company, stated that the innovation and depth of resources have set a whole new level with this new sizing technology.
“What our dealers and end-users had not experienced previously in terms of value and efficiencies, XpertFit will provide them now…along with social distancing that’s a protocol now,” mentioned Bob, adding, “Every detail and information has been vetted from the algorithms, process, use in market and privacy of customer information. We are excited to see what this will do for our top customers, retailers and internal teams as well.”
As far as mechanism of XpertFit is concerned, it eliminates the need of ‘onsite measuring’ and provides accurate and instant body measurements from a smartphone. The customers need to access the technology and the device will collect the required information. It will then take two pictures: (1) front profile and (2) side profile.
The gathered information is then used to calculate body measurements based on the uniquely developed algorithm, which determines a recommended size for Safariland body armor or Flying Cross uniform apparel.
The entire process takes just under 2 minutes to complete right from initiating the technology to providing the product sizing to the customer.
Brad Williams, President, Safariland, commented, “The proper fit of uniforms and armors is essential to duty and safety personnel. Our partnership with 3DLOOK has allowed us to revolutionise the process.”
According to a press release of 3DLOOK, the new XpertFit technology, before seeing a full launch in Q2’ 21, will enter Phase I of its release in early December to a select group of dealers and customers.
“We’ve had the pleasure of working with the amazing teams at both Fechheimer and The Safariland Group to deliver this first-of-a-kind accurate and simple fit and sizing solution. This is a key step in digital transformation for the uniform manufacturing industry across the globe,” asserted Vadim Rogovskiy, Co-founder and CEO, 3DLOOK.
