Sportswear giant, Puma, has announced that it will deploy Google Cloud’s AI solutions to help personalise product discovery, improve customer loyalty rewards and create easy online-to-offline purchases.
This will open the door for innovations aimed at the end user, such as AI-powered loyalty programmes and virtual try-ons and generative AI shopping assistants.
As a result of the partnership, Puma will develop a worldwide e-commerce data platform and move certain aspects of its ecosystem for online sales, such as puma.com, to Google Cloud. The average order value has already increased by 19% in the early phases of implementation.
Pancho Ortuzar, Director Global E-Commerce Engineering at Puma said, “With Google Cloud’s AI and data capabilities, we have been able to not only gain a far better understanding of our customers, but also translate that insight into frictionless commerce, and more personal shopping experiences both online and offline.”
Carrie Tharp, VP Strategic Industries at Google Cloud, added, “As consumer tastes become more personalised and bespoke, popular brands will need to look at technologies like generative AI to stay ahead of the curve.”
Google Cloud’s AI capabilities will be the foundation of Puma.com’s updated global loyalty programme over the course of this multiyear cooperation, speeding up rewards transactions and customising promotions and special offers to the tastes of individual customers and their families.
