Snap, the parent company of Snapchat, has acquired apparel tech start up Fit Analytics to add an e-commerce technology business into its portfolio.
Fit Analytics is the maker of a product called Fit Finder, which renowned fashion brands and retailers such as North Face, Asos, Calvin Klein, Patagonia, Puma etc. use to assist online customers pick properly fitting clothes and reduce return rate.
“Our main focus going forward will be to scale the Fit Analytics business and work with Snap to grow their shopping platform, leveraging our technology and expertise,” said Fit Analytics.
It’s worth mentioning here that the Fit Analytics sizing platform combines the world’s largest database of garment and fit information with hundreds of billions of dollars of purchasing records and consumer preferences.
More than 100 employees of Fit Analytics are now set to join Snap and continue to operate out of Berlin (Germany). The team will also work closely with Snap’s product group on e-commerce and shopping products, according to Snap.
