Meesho’s e-commerce marketplace has launched ‘Project Suraksha’ showcasing its commitment to building a secure and trustworthy marketplace. It is all about encompassing initiative that focuses on combating counterfeit and restricted products.
By deploying proactive mechanisms and cutting-edge technology tools, Meesho identifies, blocks, and removes counterfeit listings, safeguarding its marketplace and ensuring a safe environment for consumers and sellers.
The impressive results of ‘Project Suraksha’ are reflected in the deactivation of nearly 42 lakh counterfeit and infringing product listings and 10 lakh restricted products in just six months.
This relentless effort has led to an 80 per cent reduction in platform views for non-compliant listings, making up only 0.1 per cent of total platform views. Meesho’s robust verification processes ensure that only legitimate sellers operate on the platform, and over 12,000 bad actor accounts were blocked in 2023, further solidifying the platform’s commitment to user safety.
Additionally, it has also leveraged the power of artificial intelligence and data science models to detect and flag suspicious listings and bad actor seller accounts promptly. The platform also forms strong brand partnerships to protect intellectual property rights, fostering a transparent and secure environment for genuine products.
As a pioneer in democratising Internet commerce and supporting small businesses, Meesho sets a benchmark for the industry, ensuring consumers can shop with confidence and trust in the authenticity of the products they purchase.
