Ikea has teamed up with SES-imagotag to introduce its innovative VUSION IoT Cloud platform and smart electronic shelf labels across its European stores. The partnership between the two companies has flourished over the years, culminating in this latest strategic move.
Over 110 stores in six European countries will be the first beneficiaries of this collaboration. The VUSION platform is set to revolutionise the way Ikea connects with its shoppers on the shop floor, offering in-store digital services that will elevate their shopping experience and overall satisfaction.
Process automation will streamline operations in the stores, allowing staff to focus on more value-added tasks. Additionally, the platform will enhance the efficiency of fulfilling online orders, optimising the in-store fulfilment process.
To facilitate a rapid roll-out of the VUSION platform, it will be integrated with Ikea’s existing in-store wireless infrastructure, which is managed by Aruba. This integration will result in lower investments and operating costs, while also reducing the carbon footprint of the overall system, aligning with Ikea’s sustainability goals. Customers can look forward to a more personalised and streamlined shopping experience as the implementation progresses.
Sébastien Fourcy, Senior Executive Vice President EMEA at SES-imagotag, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “This partnership is a clear demonstration of our strategy creating momentum in the market. Retailers need to transform their physical stores into high-value digital assets, and our VUSION platform enables them to do just that. We are proud to collaborate with such a global, prestigious retailer on their omnichannel and sustainability strategy.
