Google is upgrading its Discover feed with new recommendation option including for beauty and apparels. The step aims to simplify the shopping experience for beauty products for the consumers by assisting them in visualising makeup looks and virtually trying on products.
The company said that with this it wants to bring the experience of shopping offline to the user’s phone, as with online shopping it can be difficult to make a decision on such personal items.
The new feature, for now, will be launched only in the USA.
The company further said that it has collaborated with brands like ModiFace and Perfect Corp to help users visualise different lipstick and eye shadow shades.
The new tool will leverage the power of Augment Reality allowing the consumers to virtually try product on them and make better shopping decisions.
Furthermore, the users will also receive recommendations from beauty, apparel and home and garden enthusiasts and experts. They will review their favourite products on the Discover feed in the Google app or while browsing through Google Shopping.
