Amazon, the e-commerce behemoth, has announced another stride in leveraging generative artificial intelligence (AI) to aid sellers in crafting product descriptions during its annual seller conference. By employing AI-generated product descriptions, Amazon is further embracing this technology to enhance the selling experience. The company has asserted that this approach will empower sellers to compose accurate and quicker product descriptions. Earlier in August, Amazon revealed its intent to utilise AI for condensing product reviews from verified purchasers. The feature was initially tested with select US mobile users and is slated for wider release in the upcoming months.
Robert Tekiela, Amazon’s Vice President of Selection and Catalog Systems, expressed to the media that their new generative AI models enable them to deduce, refine, and enhance product information at a larger scale, enhancing quality, performance, and efficiency. He highlighted that their models learn to gather product details through a wide array of sources, latent knowledge, and logical reasoning.
Notably, Amazon isn’t alone in integrating AI into product description processes. eBay recently introduced its “magical listing” tool, employing AI to enable sellers to derive product specifics from images and create product descriptions
