The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has formally become the knowledge partner of the Bangladesh–China Green Textile Expo 2026 following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
Under the agreement, BGMEA will support the promotion and development of the expo through content development, industry engagement and structured knowledge-sharing initiatives aimed at accelerating sustainable practices across Bangladesh’s apparel and textile ecosystem.
The MoU brings together BGMEA, Savor International Limited and the Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB) with the objective of strengthening bilateral cooperation in sustainability, green technology and future-ready apparel manufacturing.
The agreement was signed by Sajed Karim, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Trade Fair and Events at BGMEA; Md Faizul Alam, Managing Director of Savor International Limited; and Zhou Meimei, Executive Secretary of CEAB, in the presence of senior representatives from all three organisations.
The Bangladesh–China Green Textile Expo 2026 is expected to showcase green machinery, eco-friendly raw materials, sustainable dyeing and finishing solutions, energy-efficient manufacturing systems and innovation across the entire textile and apparel value chain.
According to BGMEA, the organisers aim to position the expo as a strategic platform connecting Bangladeshi manufacturers with Chinese solution providers at a time when global brands are tightening environmental compliance requirements and demanding measurable progress in carbon reduction, water efficiency and waste management.
China remains one of the largest suppliers of textile machinery, chemicals and raw materials to Bangladesh, while Bangladesh continues to hold its position as the world’s second-largest garment exporter. Industry stakeholders believe that reinforcing this supply-side partnership through sustainability-focused platforms will help unlock new investment opportunities and accelerate the transfer of advanced green technologies.
