
The “Integrated Bed Linen and Terry Towel” textile project by Welspun Group at Anjar, Kutch, had its foundation stone laid by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. On the occasion, the Excellence Award ceremony for Welspun Group was also held. Harsh Sanghvi, the Minister of State for Home, and Balwant Singh Rajput, the Minister of Industries, were also in attendance.
The Chief Minister compared Kutch’s industrial development and stated that the region’s future is promising due to its numerous green energy projects. The Chief Minister also praised Welspun Group’s family-friendly work practices and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The Industries Minister said he hoped Welspun Group will be a key player in achieving the goal of a developed India. The Industries Minister went on to say that the textile policy created under the Prime Minister’s vision and the Chief Minister’s direction will serve as a model for other regional governments.
According to him, the Gujarat government’s initiative to prioritise women’s employment through Chief Minister Patel’s textile program is groundbreaking. “The innovative textile ‘Integrated Bed Linen and Terry Towel’ project will put the Indian textile industry on the world map,” remarked B K Goenka, Chairman of Welspun Group, during the event’s reception. Within the following 18 months, this new endeavour will surpass all other towel facilities in the globe in size, he added.
