Primark, one of the leading global apparel brands and Rajesh Bheda Consulting (RBC), a well-known consultancy organisations, have felicitated Bangladeshi factories for the success of the Sudokkho Factory Based Training Project.
‘SUDOKKHO’ is an upskilling and women’s career progression programme.
Recently both organisations brought together the leaders of tomorrow at Brac Centre, Dhaka for an event that was also attended by leading suppliers and fourteen factories supplying Primark from Bangladesh.
Dr. Rajesh Bheda, co-founder of RBC shared that the production lines managed by women supervisors, former operators, trained under the Sudokkho program have experienced a 6 per cent increase in efficiency level and their target achievement rate has gone up by 9 per cent.
Forty-five women operators from 4 factories have been trained in supervisory capabilities under the project, in addition, 180 garment workers have been trained to become skill trainers between September 2021 and December 2023. These trainers have trained 5,774 fresh trainees to become operators and 14,834 on-floor upskilling activities were conducted for existing workers resulting in an impressive improvement in their production capacity by 21.4 per cent.

The participating factory teams shared the results with efficiency increasing by over 30 per cent. It was also highlighted that due to improved skills, the earnings of the trained workers have increased by upto 72 per cent in the last 2-3 years.
