In Bhairahawa, officially known as Siddharthanagar, Nepal’s Bhat-Bhateni Group plans to build a cutting-edge apparel industry. The Bhat-Bhateni team, which includes businessman Umesh Shrestha, placed the foundation stone for the clothing factory. The plant will be located within the Bhairahawa Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
On the same day, Min Bahadur Gurung, the group’s chairman, laid the factory’s foundation stone and conducted the bhoomi puja.
According to Bhat-Bhateni COO Panu Paudel, this new initiative is a major step in diversifying the company’s commercial operations and sends a positive message about Nepal’s growing industrial climate.
With 27 locations nationwide, the firm runs Nepal’s biggest retail network. These shops sell a wide variety of goods, such as apparel, electronics, groceries, and household goods.
Bhat-Bhateni, which employs more than 22,000 people, is a major player in Nepal’s job market and economy. The business is also well-known for its CSR programs, which include giving scholarships to students from far-flung communities and building a 72-bed emergency room at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
